The GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund Hosts Inaugural “Legacy Run in the Park” 5K Event

Hauppauge, NY – August 10, 2024 – The GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund proudly hosted its inaugural “Legacy Run in the Park” 5K event on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The event, held in honor of Daniel J. Shybunko, Founder of GSE Dynamics in Hauppauge, brought together businesses in the Industrial Park and members of the community to celebrate and commemorate Dan’s legacy.

The fund was established to honor Dan’s unwavering passion for entrepreneurship and his dedication to helping small businesses thrive. The “Legacy Run in the Park” 5K event served as a fitting tribute to his commitment to fostering growth and innovation within the community.

Participants of all ages and backgrounds came together to run, walk, and support the cause, showcasing the spirit of unity and camaraderie that defined Dan’s approach to business and community engagement.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of awards for the largest team participation.  The GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund acknowledges and celebrates the teams that came together to show their support for the cause. The sense of community displayed exemplified the spirit of unity and collaboration that Dan championed throughout his life.  Notable groups included a group from The Hope House Ministries, and LI Manufacturing companies such as GSE Dynamics, Sensaras, and Thuro Metals.
“We are thrilled to see the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from the community for our inaugural ‘Legacy Run in the Park’” said Anne Shybunko-Moore, Dan’s daughter, current Owner and CEO of GSE Dynamics. “My father’s legacy continues to inspire us all, and we are grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate his life and contributions.”

The success of the event would not have been possible without the generous contributions and support from local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and participants. Their dedication and commitment to honoring Dan’s memory and furthering the mission of the GSE Shybunko Memorial Fund are truly commendable.

As the fund looks towards the future, it remains committed to upholding Dan’s values and vision, supporting entrepreneurship, and empowering small businesses to thrive and succeed. The “Legacy Run in the Park” 5K event marks the beginning of a new chapter in honoring Dan’s legacy and continuing his impactful work within the community.
