We Love it.

“We have a passion for it.
You can’t do anything unless you have a passion for what you’re doing.
I’ll never retire, this is my life”.

– Dan Shybunko, 1933-2019

Our founder’s sentiment in this quote defines the people and culture at GSE Dynamics. We have a collective passion for our work and we are very proud to support U.S. War Fighters with the highest quality parts for the machines they operate.

Our company was founded on April 15, 1971 by Daniel J. Shybunko in Farmingdale, New York. With 20 years of experience at Grumman Aerospace as a structural engineer, Dan left to start a machine shop to support Grumman and other larger aerospace manufacturers. May 18, 1971 was Job #1, a bracket for $525.

In 1983, GSE moved to Hauppauge, building a new manufacturing facility in the fledgling Hauppauge Industrial Park, now the second largest industrial park on the East Coast.

In 2001, Dan’s daughter, Anne Shybunko-Moore, joined GSE. Anne led the expansion into composite manufacturing with the 2004 acquisition of SMI Inc in Georgia and the 2005 acquisition of General Dynamics’ Glen Cove Naval business. To meet the demands of the composite and Navy work, GSE opened a second facility in Hauppauge in 2005. In 2012, GSE consolidated the Georgia and New York composites work in a 57,000 sq ft building in Hauppauge. In 2016, GSE acquired Elite Manufacturing Technologies to expand machining capabilities.
On October 30, 2019, GSE founder Dan Shybunko passed away. On December 5, 2019, GSE was awarded Job #4000 for $140,500 for Stanchion Assemblies.

Today, GSE is a 2nd generation, family-owned, federally certified Woman-Owned Business and is the top by business volume woman-owned, small business supplier to the Defense Logistics Agency.
