Business Development Engineer 

GSE Dynamics, Inc., a full-service engineering and manufacturing company located in Hauppauge, NY, is seeking a Business Development Engineer for the Sales Department who is organized, detail oriented and possesses strong interpersonal skills.

Summary:

As a BD Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and submission of bids, proposals and tender documents for engineering projects. You will work closely with sales team and cross-functional teams including operations and purchasing as needed to understand client requirements, develop technical solutions, and prepare competitive proposals that align with the company’s strategic objectives. Key functions include the development and preparation of technical proposals, development of costs and estimates coordination and collaboration with the rest of the sales team and communication with external and internal customers while supporting overall strategic sales & marketing initiatives.

Reports to: VP Business Development

Duties include:

       Support VP of BD in driving the overall execution of the customer quoting, proposal preparation, order entry processes meeting customer requirements.

       Develop and prepare cost estimates and project timelines and schedules of deliverables.

       Communicate with sales team and across functions regarding competitive quote issues, and product and pricing strategies to ensure that proposals are completed properly and enhance win probability.

       Research and analyze historical price data in an effort to increase sales and profitability.

       Prepares proposals to ensure that the documents are compliant with most recent customer RFQ’s changes and requirements.

       Responsible for monitoring emails and contact prospective clients to ensure proposals, purchase orders, awards, and other opportunities/issues are completed on time in order to capture sales opportunities and provide outstanding customer service.

       Maintain an organized library and records of all sales quotes and orders in accordance with company policies to ensure information is readily retrievable to for management review.

       Follow up after bid has been awarded to uncover competitive information for future bids.

       Ensure all raised quality and customer complaint issues are handled through the proper quality processes and channels.

       Work with our internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needs.

 

Qualifications:

 

       Bachelor degree with 5 or more years of related experience or commensurate combination of education and experience.

       5 or more years related engineering, proposal, bid or project work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

       Job requires excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines.

       Computer skills required and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and other software programs.

       Exceptional aptitude and understanding of CRM and ERP systems, processes, and procedures.

       Bidding, Estimating, Proposal Writing, Sales Management

       Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

       Product Costing, Quotations, Request for Quotation (RFQ), Sales Order Processing.

 

Salary Range:  $90,000 – $120,000 annual salary
